Chrissy Lombard-Adair is in her third season as head coach of the GW women's lacrosse program. She is responsible for all aspects of the program, including player development, recruiting and scheduling.
In just two seasons as head coach of the Colonials, Lombard-Adair has helped develop seven all-conference performers, including a league Defensive Player of the Year and an All-American, five academic all-conference selections and is tied as the five-year program's winningest coach.
In her first year directing the program in 2005, Lombard-Adair guided GW to its first winning record, most overall wins (13) and conference victories (5) in school history, and the program's first trip to the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament. She was voted the league's Coach of the Year and was one of two finalists for the IWLCA South Regional Coach of the Year. Lombard-Adair helped guide Erin Berry to A-10 Defensive Player of the Year and all-conference honors, Laura Hostetler to all-conference and Inside Lacrosse All-America third team recognition, while three Colonials earned IWLCA Honor Roll accolades.
Prior to taking over as the head coach, Lombard-Adair was the Colonials assistant coach from 2002-04. As an assistant, she oversaw the development of the team's attack and midfield units. Under her direction, Lombard-Adair helped produce two All-Conference performers.
Lombard-Adair was an All-America attack player for Boston University from 1998-2001. She led the Terriers to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2000 and the team finished 11th in the final IWLCA poll. Lombard-Adair was named team MVP three straight times and holds the Boston University women's lacrosse records for goals and total points scored within three seasons. Lombard-Adair also was named America East Conference Rookie of the Year (1998) and Player of the Year three times (1999, 2000 and `01). Named team captain in 2001, she was recognized then as the No. 7 athlete in All-Time Sports Achievement at Boston University (men and women) and as the No. 10 athlete in All-Time Female Sports Achievement for the Boston Metro area by the Boston Globe.
In addition to her playing and coaching credentials, Lombard-Adair has a wealth of lacrosse camp experience, serving as an instructor at the Elite 300 Camp at Loyola and the University of Maryland Elite Camp.
Lombard-Adair, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Boston University in 2001, married Hunter Adair in the fall of 2006. The couple resides in Columbia, MD.
