No. 19/16 GW Women's Basketball NCAA Tournament Selection Show Reception Set for Monday, March 17

March 13, 2008

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington Department of Athletics and women's basketball team will hold an NCAA Tournament Selection Monday reception in the AD's Club of the Charles E. Smith Athletics Center this Monday, March 17, beginning at 6:30 pm.

ESPN's NCAA Women's Tournament Selection Special will begin at 7:00 pm on Monday, therefore fans and media are being requested to arrive early to enjoy pizza and refreshments, as well as a meet-and-greet with the women's basketball players.

No. 19/16 GW enters the postseason 25-6 overall, marking the program's ninth consecutive season with 20-or-more victories. The Colonials claimed a share of their seventh straight regular-season Atlantic 10 crown and had non-conference road victories against then No. 10 Texas A&M, then No. 18 Auburn and No. 23 Virginia. GW also posted home wins over RPI Top 60 programs Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Xavier.

Last March, No. 5 seed GW knocked off Boise State and Texas A&M to advance to the Sweet 16 of the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
