David Zenk Named Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference

March 5, 2008

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced today that junior David Zenk (St. Louis, MO/St. Louis Country Day School) has been named to the Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference Team. Voting was conducted among the Conference's sports information directors. This is the second straight season which Zenk has earned this particular academic honor.

Zenk was named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Year at the Atlantic 10 Championships after winning the gold in both the 200-yard and 400-yard individual medleys, as well as the 200-yard backstroke. It was the second time he was also awarded that honor. For the season, Zenk won 22/24 individual races, was named the conference Performer of the Week three times, and set six individual meet records.

Joining Zenk on the 2008 Atlantic 10 Men's Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference team are Student-Athlete of the Year, Brad Byars, from Saint Louis, Fordham's Donato Callara and Ryan Coombs, Michael Berthaume and John Weaver from Massachusetts, Scott Jordan and James Wood of St. Bonaventure, Xavier's Matt Krouse and Ryan Sheatsley of Rhode Island.
