Zenk Wins 400 IM as Men's Swimming Stays in Ninth Place at A-10 Championships

BUFFALO, NY -The George Washington men's swimming & diving team remains in ninth place after the third day of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships Friday at the Flickinger Aquatic Center. Junior David Zenk took the gold in the 400-yard IM for the second straight season, while fellow junior and Tom Pullen and freshman Andrew Maguire also scored in individual events on the day.

Zenk bested his nearest competitor by nearly six seconds in 3:56.36 as the St. Louis, MO, native recorded his second individual win of the conference championships. Zenk also took the 200-yard IM on Thursday night.

Pullen and Maguire both tallied points for GW in the 100-yard butterfly with 13th and 15th place finishes, respectively. Pullen touched the wall in 52.26, while Maguire clocked in just after in 52.84.

The fourth and final day of the Atlantic 10 Championships will be held Saturday at Flickinger. The morning trials begin at 10:30 am and the finals commence at 6:30 pm.
