Made a big splash early in his GW career, shooting 71-72 to finish third and help his team to the title at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational.

Perlmutter came to Foggy Bottom as one of the top prospects in the nation and the region. He was ranked the No. 49 prosepct in the class of 2006 by Golfweek and the 99th player overall in the same rankings when he committed to GW. He was named "All-Met" by the Washington Post in 2005 after winning the Washington Area Private Schools Championship under coach Jack Duquette at Landon. He finished second at the 2005 AJGA Rome Classic shooting 69-66-71. That same summer, Michael won the Dewey Rickets Cup and came from seven shots off the pace to win the Bubby Worsham Memorial.
