ARLINGTON, VA - Eight Colonials recorded at least one hit and RHP Justin Prinstein (1-0) threw three scoreless innings to earn his first collegiate win in George Washington University's (8-20) 10-2 victory over Delaware State University (9-19-2) Wednesday afternoon at Barcroft Park.

The Hornets burned through five pitchers in the loss, surrendering 10 earned runs on 10 hits in GW's second win over DSU in two weeks.

Centerfielder Charlie Kruer (Old Bridge, NJ / Old Bridge) put GW on the board in the first inning with a three-run home run (5).

The Colonials added a run in the second inning and posted a three-run third to take a 7-2 advantage. Third baseman Tom Shanley (Stanfordville, NY / Pine Plains) led off the bottom of the third with a home run (2).

First baseman Tim Reeves' (Cumming, GA / North Forsyth) RBI single in the sixth inning gave the Colonials an 8-1 lead. Back-to-back doubles from shortstop Michael Parker (Newton, MA / Newton South) and catcher Whitey Wallace (Syracuse, NY / Phillip Exeter Academy) followed by another RBI by Reeves in the eighth put GW on top 10-2.

Overall, Reeves went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Parker went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

In his first career start, GW freshman RHP Jim Duggan (Jefferson, MD / St. John's Prospect Hall) allowed two runs on four hits in 3.0 innings before Prinstein came on to shutout the Hornets over the middle three frames.

RHP Brian Frazier (Allentown, PA / Emmaus) was also effective in relief for the Colonials, allowing no runs and one hit over the game's final 3.0 innings.

RHP Dan Perkins (1-4) started for the Hornets and allowed four runs on four hits in 2.0 innings as he took the loss.

DSU first baseman Brandon Gravely went 3-for-5 with a double and a RBI.
