GW Swimming and Diving Wrap Regular Season With Losses at Mason

FAIRFAX, VA - The George Washington University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed its 2004-05 regular season Saturday with defeats from George Mason University at its Aquatic and Fitness Center.

The men's squad fell 144-87 while the women fell 140-90.

Junior Christina Boland (Purcelville, VA/Loudon Valley) recorded two first place finishes for the Colonials, taking the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.34) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:11.43).

Senior Kirsten Rasmuson (San Diego, CA/Mt. Carmel) and junior Maggie Moss (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) also notched individual victories. Rasmuson took the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.89) and Moss took the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.13).

Sophomore Mark DeSimone (New Orleans, LA/Isadore Newman) and freshman Jeffrey Glazer (Dix Hills, NY/Commack) led the GW men as DeSimone won the 200-yard breastroke (2:24.04) and Glazer won the 50-yard freestyle (21.95 seconds).

The Colonials return to action Feb.17-19 when they travel to Buffalo, NY for the Atlantic 10 Championships.
